Juventus Stadium opening 8th sept

Juventus Arena is perhaps the most eagerly anticipated new stadium opening of 2011 in Europe. On 8 September, Juventus will host League One’s Notts County (the English club having provided the inspiration for the Italian club’s black/white shirts) to open the replacement for the Stadio delle Alpi, itself only opened in 1990 but demolished with Juventus Arena rising in its place. Construction is now almost complete on the new stadium. With a capacity a little over 41,000, it should be more suitable for a club that averaged a mere 21,914 fans in the 2010-11 Serie A season and has reportedly sold approaching 25,000 season tickets for their first season in Juventus Arena
A couple more pictures of Juventus Arena (as it is known for now until naming rights kick in) show how the stadium has taken shape, including the attractive use of seat coloring as a design element. We will have a lot more on the new Juventus stadium around its opening on September 8th.

This video shows the work that has gone on since ground was broken in March 2009.
